Horyuji Temple <-(187K)

The Horyuji Temple is said to have been founded by Prince Shotoku and Empress Suiko in the 7th century. The Kondo (main hall) is the world's oldest wooden building. Within the compound are as many as 2000 precious structures and sculptures including national treasures and important cultural properties. Designated one of the world's most important cultural heritages in 1993.
