Jokoku-ji Temple

Cultural Property Designated by the Osaka Prefectural Government
Edo Period, Warring Period

Situated at the west end of the district, Jokoku-ji is a temple of the Yuzu Nembutsu sect of Buddhism which was erected in 1286. It was transported here in 1574. It keeps two cultural properties designated by the Osaka prefectural government: the standing statue of Jizo (guardian deity of children), or Ksitigarbha-bodhisattva, which was made in 1311, and documents concerning ascetics who made pilgrimages around western Japan 33 times.
