		Ise Highway (Fudano-tsuji)
	Edo Period One Hundred Historical Roads Selected by the Agency for Cultural Affairs	In the Edo Period (1600-1868), Haibara thrived as an eastern gate town to Yamato with traffic of tourists on the Ise Highway connecting Yamato to Ise. The highway is dotted with many ancient guideposts. At the Fudano-tsuji, a fork of the main Ise Highway and the branch Aogoe Highway, there is still a former inn, "Aburaya," a guidepost and an all-night light, all conveying the nostalgic atmosphere of the old post-station town.
