Torimiyama Park


Before the Kofun Period

Lying near the top of Mt. Torimi with an altitude of 735 m, this hilly natural park centers around Lake Magatama. In the park are a monument at the legendary sacred place associated with Emperor Jinmu and monuments inscribed with poems. The park is famous for the spring blossoms of thousands of azalea and wild cherry trees and also for the beautifully tinted leaves in autumn.
From the observatory, visitors can command a view of the whole mountainous area of Uda in the Yamato Basin. The panoramic view from this quiet holy place is enchanting.
