![]() | Immigrants from the Asian continent called this area "Ansuku" meaning "a place for immigrants to live in peace." It was a peaceful rural landscape of grape farms at the foot of a mountain, Mt. Nijozan, with a gentle silhouette.
The name of "Asuka," which is believed to derive from "Ansuku," remains today as "Chikatsu-Asuka" (near Asuka) while the Asuka village of Nara prefecture is called "Totsu-Asuka" (far Asuka). Source: The Habikino municipal government |
